Wanderings of the Wide World: Lathrop

Upon my many travels in this great country known as the Central Valley, I have wandered upon many a memorable place.

To the north of my humble village, just south of the metropolis of Stockton, is a a trade city in the heart of the cow lands.

This tiny principality is home to vast fortifications stuffed to the brim with delectable munchies for the everyman. Amidst the ramifications of the ominous buildings there is one fort that stands apart, bejeweled with the labors of its denizens...

It is hailed as Ghiradelli.

.

Do you understand the implications of this? THERE IS A GHIRADELLI CHOCLATES OUTLET AND ICE CREAM SHOP 20 minutes away from Modesto. OMG WTF FTW!

iPad

Haha.

Apple came out with a response to Amazon's Kindle. It's called the iPad.

You know... as in MaxiPad.

Jodi

I had a long day yesterday. Pulled an all nighter for a midterm. Bad idea when you have to drive an hour and half in the rain. I napped on the back seat of my car and I slept like a log. Sometimes I wonder what people think when they see me... because every time I wake up there's a car missing. Or do they not notice?

Dad left for India Sunday so I had to mind Jodi. I didn't check up on her until I got back from class yesterday. She tackled me, her natural response to no attention for a day. My reply was to sit on her and grab her ears. We played fetch for a long while. I use two balls, as soon as she brings back one I throw the next one. But when the brat gets tired she'll 'lose' one ball and just trot after the other.

"Judge" Preet Harpal

"Papa Kendha Judge Ban na."

"Papa says become a judge."

My favorite song of the moment.

Reminds me of my life, to some extent.

Blue Tooth Capable

Daddy got me a pink lexus!

Excited? Yes, I am!

This thing is fantastic.

This is just my car newbiness coming through, but it's got bluetooth in the damn steering wheel! And a moon roof. It's got a 6-disc CD changer, an automatic shade for the back window, heaters in the front seats... and it's PINK!

The engine is super smart too, it actually compensates for my weak turns! It'll turn extra when I'm pulling out or into a parking spot. Fukn elite.

Yeah baby.

Break up

Damn I just broke up with my bf.
Betrayal hurts.
All I asked for was the truth.
Nigga can't give me that much, but at least he went without a fight.
Fuck.
Heart broken.
Totally puts all the "I don't deserve you moments," into perspective.

Fuck It.
:D

Wilderness

My idea of a vicious, fanged beast:
Raccoon.

Question:
How far would I get in the wilderness?

Answer:
I'd be fucking screwed.

Note to self:
Don't go camping alone.

Poetry: Ode to Ankle Biters

Twinkle, twinkle little brat
I always know where you're at.
Everytime you make a sound,
I wish you were gagged and bound.

Be A Hero: Recycle!

I might be small but I am mighty!
I recycle!
Or the beaners digging through my trash do.
Save space and compact your bottles.
Remove the bottle cap and twist ends in opposite ways to crush.
Add a beastly or nonchalant expression for immediate respect.

Backseat Ponderings: Smelly Love

Does love boil down to loving how someone smells?
Listening to 'The Title' by Ciara.
Ugh. Pheromones.

WoW: Sock Mates

there are soul mates
in socks
they might all be manufactured at the same plant
but only that one pair goes through all the same things
and suffers together, and stretches together
and gets worn down into nothing
and one of those old socks, won't match with a new one
that's a soulmate
and maybe she's your sock pair
idk
but u never know till u walk together for a bit

Sobbing Squirrels

I started at UC Davis this Monday. It boils down to the same shit different place. The squirrels are huge. I saw one running up a tree with a giant green apple in its maw. I wonder if the stories of them throwing twigs at people are true.

I feel as if me and Mr. Shields have gotten intimate, because I've had two naps in the library. I found window seats and actually studied. I blew $1700 on books and tuition. Gas and the parking tickets are going to add up over the next few months. The commute is long and boring, and the days are short and cloudy.

I don't like most of the songs on my ipod.

I also realized how good I had it at UCSB. Davis doesn't have shit on it. The vibe is casual, beach-goer... at Davis it's awkward and nerdy. I fit in perfectly, but I'm used to being the odd one out. I feel alienated.

I've been watching Ghost Whisperer from season 3 on... Jim died and I've spent the last 2 hours bawling over him. I am so heartbroken.

I had to undecorate the Christmas tree. It's bare branches were stiff and prickly. Rest in peace, green one.

Day 2

I flossed my teeth yesterday. I feel accomplished.

Har left today. She finally brought me the de-frizzer I asked for a week ago. And then she asked if I could hook her up with a dub. Bitch.

I discovered The Kominas today. They're a Punjabi Punk band! The Gods of MSN had preordained it. Too bad they're Pakistani Punjabis. I've twittered them and Facebook'ed them. Their rendition of 'Choli de pichey' is definitely different. Skip the bull shit and start at 1:00 minute:

I exchanged Dad's and Ranjit's blazers today, and still didn't get Dad's size right. Bought a bunch of earrings and a necklace with my Kohl's Cash though. I finally got those red heels from MJM. I'm delighted.

Dad let me know that he can sense my frustration and if I needed to talk to him he was there for it. And that he missed our conversations. So I talked to him about the subject of my Saidpur blog on MiC (shameless plug). I asked him about the reason for shabads, he told me a little about raags. Now I've got the topic for my next MiC blog post. I hope that comes out tonight. 'Till then I'm stalking stalkers on the interwebz with the Cookie Monster.

2010 is here!

New day, new year. How often can you say that, my friend?

Only once a year!

So here are my resolutions for this coming year:

1) Get yoga-tastic.
2) Floss everyday.
3) Get in to medical school.
4) Keep up with my MiC blog.
5) Make a short post about my life at least once a week, via this Mobile blog. So be prepared for spam!
